 Gayla Bentley, Fashion Pioneer and Style Expert has been on a mission blazing a path for women of all sizes for over 30 years in the fashion industry.
Gayla has always lived by the mantras, “It’s not about size, it’s about style and Live in Personal Style (L.I.P.S) symbolized by our vibrant Red Lips logo.
Gayla earned her “Style “ education at Saks Fifth Avenue as the Director of The Fifth Avenue Club, their exclusive personal shopping service, dressing the “who’s who of Houston” for almost 10 years.
Gayla then experienced a life changing experience , she broke her neck in a car accident. During her recuperation Gayla decided to pursue and dedicate her life to styling “modern woman” of all sizes and all economic incomes.
Gayla founded Gayla Affairs and developed a pseudonym, Dr. Styles, who on the local Houston TV shows, along with her assistant Nurse Accessory, would drive her fashion ambulance to ambush women to make them over.
Gayla desired to learn more about European style. Launching another extension of her business, Haute Cou-Tours, she offered private, personalized shopping excursions to Paris and throughout Europe for her clients. After many years of traveling the world and not finding beautiful clothes for “women with curves” and after working with thousands of frustrated women who could never find clothes to fit or flatter them, the decision was made …time to learn the technical side of the fashion business, and that is exactly what Gayla Bentley did.
Gayla formed the Gayla Bentley Fashion Design Group in 2001. Our companyis dedicated to creating fashionable, desirable, modern clothing for women of all sizes and shapes, a rarity in today’s world of fashion. Gayla’s designs are chic with classic design lines. Her styles transcend seasonal dressing and create a working wardrobe that women will actually wear not leave in their closet.
Gayla is on a mission to integrate---the sizes, that is and to eradicate the last prejudice, weight discrimination.
