After 30 years as an international style consultant, Gayla is no stranger to the discrimination women with curves experience in the world of fashion. In 2001, Gayla graduated from style consultant to Designer-in-Chief of The Gayla Bentley Fashion Design Group; a company committed to spreading the message “It’s Not About Size, It’s About Style!”
Through The Gayla Bentley Fashion Design Group, Gayla is able to design and market women’s apparel and accessories for Women with Curves (Misses and Women’s Size
2-28). Gayla designs clothing which women, no matter their shape, can embrace to create their own unique, chic styles. Today, Gayla’s focus is expanding her clothing line to being a global brand – and dispelling the myth that “larger size women don’t want nice clothes”. Gayla aims to erase the shame associated with being “plus size”, using the term “modern size” instead and encourages women to dress the body they have – not the body they want to have.
The Gayla Bentley Houston-Paris Collection is sold in over 100 specialty boutiques worldwide, Zappos.com, Myshape.com as well as www.gaylabentley.com. The collection has also successfully sold online at www.neimanmarcus.com for 7 years.
